Rain Dance
Each of us is guilty of creating a world, all of our own, that negates the simple fact that we each can not be the center of the universe. Each one of us has a universe which collides, over and over, with the millions of others that make up just one 12 hour day. With this humbling thought in mind… I wonder if you looked at -stress, waiting, change, emotions, adversity, ect. with the same philosophy- would it change how we felt through out our daily struggles? We groan over missed lunch dates, late meetings, traffic, and a plethora of other tasks and time management mishaps that are actually rather mundane and insignificant in the scheme of life. A spilt coffee and electric bill is enough to make some cry in the bathroom stall for an hour. Others it’s that fight with the not so in-significant other, or the heckling from family members better left on mute. In all they seem small when not attached to a person and a face. I dare to ask, or rather challenge the perspective we use through out our daily stress. Not so long ago food and survival were the main struggle. We hunted, gathered, and yep- danced for rain. It gave an outlet for the truth- we CAN NOT CONTROL life. We are backseat drivers slamming our feet on the imaginary breaks over and over, but to no surprise at all- we fail to slow down. It is a ride, both with the exhilaration and that -“I’m gonna vomit” feeling. ACCEPT it, and join me-
